Ukraine will open representative offices in Berlin and Copenhagen this year to sell arms for export. President Volodymyr Zelensky announced this at a briefing on Monday.
According to the president, the plan is to create two “export capitals” as part of co-production and export of weapons that Ukraine can afford to sell. This primarily concerns maritime drones, because, the president said, not all the weaponry produced can be afforded for export by Ukraine.
Presidential adviser Oleksandr Kamyshyn added that this concerns those types of weaponry where Ukraine’s production capacities exceed the procurement capacities of the Security and Defence Forces.
Proceeds from exports are planned to be directed to domestic production of scarce types of weaponry.
The president said the decision to open the first two representative offices has been made both at the level of the companies involved in co-production and at the state level.
Earlier the president stated that in 2026 Ukraine is ready to produce drones and missiles worth $35 billion.
According to the Ukrainian Council of Defence Industry, 94% of arms manufacturers are ready to open exports.
