Swedish investment company Front Ventures has invested $550,000 in Ukrainian brushless DC motor manufacturer Aeromotors. This was disclosed to Defender Media by Front Ventures CEO Jonas Malmgren. The investment firm received a 5.5% stake in the project, valuing Aeromotors at $10 million.

Malmgren said Aeromotors attracted the company due to the growing demand for non-Chinese drone motors and the fact that the Ukrainian manufacturer produces all components in-house and can customise its motors to customer requirements.

“Our investment will go toward purchasing new equipment and scaling production to three times the current volume,” says the CEO of Front Ventures. “We will also help the company launch production lines in Europe.”

Aeromotors CEO Andrii Tyndyk told Defender Media that the company’s current production capacity is around 10,000 electric motors per month, including its own metalworking facilities. “We are now moving toward 60,000 motors per month,” the entrepreneur added.

Investors have promised to help the Aeromotors team find buyers for the increased production volumes. According to Malmgren, Front Ventures has already helped the startup begin talks with two potential clients in Ukraine: a drone interceptor manufacturer and a tactical FPV producer. “We’ve also just helped them establish contact with a Swedish manufacturer as well, so that makes three,” Malmgren smiles.

Front Ventures is a Swedish public company that began investing in defence projects in the summer of 2025, focusing on Swedish and Ukrainian ventures that require capital investment and support with scaling and market expansion.

According to Malmgren, Aeromotors is the second Ukrainian project in Front Ventures’ portfolio. In autumn 2025, the investment firm invested $60,000 in Skyhunter, a startup that automates the targeting of combat UAVs using real-time radar data. Another Swedish firm, Hede Capital, co-invested in the round. Front Ventures received a 1.1% stake in the project, which was valued at $4 million.

Front Ventures plans to participate in Aeromotors’ future investment rounds as well. Overall, in 2026 the Swedish investment firm plans to invest $2–4 million in defence startups. Front Ventures is most interested in projects in the fields of UGVs, drone components, software, payload manufacturing, and specialised drones.
